Anti-Bullying

Bullying in any form will NOT be tolerated at St. Ignatius Catholic Primary School.

St. Ignatius Anti-Bullying Policy

What is bullying?

‘The repetitive, intentional hurting of one person or group by another person or group, where the relationship involves an imbalance of power. Bullying can be physical, verbal or psychological. It can happen face-to-face or online’.

Online Bullying

We take bullying very seriously at St. Ignatius and ‘cyber-bullying’ or ‘online bullying’ is part of this. Please see our Online Safety page for more information or Get Safe Online Cyberbullying for immediate advice.

Education on Bullying

We deliver an extensive Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) curriculum in our school and approach the subject of bullying in these sessions, as well as our Virtue development. We believe that social, emotional and character education has a positive impact on friendships amongst children. Please see our curriculum page for more information.

We also take part in Anti-Bullying Week every year alongside our curriculum and use tools, guidance and training to support our continued development. You can find out more information about the Anti-Bullying Alliance here: Anti-Bullying Alliance

Find out what this year’s theme is for 2023 here: Anti-Bullying Week 2023

Please contact any member of staff in our school if you have any concerns about bullying.
