BKCAT Y7 Transition Information

Most of our pupils transfer to St Thomas à Becket Catholic Secondary School, our partner secondary school within the Bishop Konstant Catholic Academy Trust.

Applying for a Year 7 place: applications for secondary school places must be made through your local authority by 31 October of your child’s Year 6. Wakefield residents can apply via the Wakefield Council school admissions pages.

St Thomas à Becket holds open events for Year 5 and Year 6 families each autumn — dates are published on the school’s website and social media.

Throughout Year 6 we work closely with St Thomas à Becket to make the move to secondary school as smooth as possible, including transition visits in the summer term. If you have any questions, please speak to your child’s class teacher or contact the school office.
