Mission Statement

It is our aim that, through the power of the Holy Spirit:

  • each individual is valued, loved, welcomed and accepted as a precious creation of God
  • we are a community where ‘God is love’ is revealed in the witness of everyday life
  • a love of learning is inspired and the wide range of God-given gifts and talents of each child is celebrated and fulfilled
  • we provide the highest possible quality of education within a learning environment where children are both challenged and supported

Objectives:

Learning & Teaching: We will strive to provide an environment of excellence in teaching and learning and to be outstanding in all we do.
Our teaching will be effective, exciting and creative.

We will recognise that a well educated child needs to be supported and challenged in the development of their whole person, i.e. academically, emotionally, physically, socially, culturally and spiritually.

Partnership: We will develop and maintain a close and trusting partnership with parents and recognise that they are the prime educators of their children.

We will be an active and committed member of the Wakefield Catholic Schools Partnership and, together with the Diocese of Leeds, will support a continuum of Catholic Education for our children.

Worship and Catholic Life of the School: We will provide opportunities for inspirational age – appropriate worship. We will ensure that R.E. is outstanding.

We will work in close partnership with the parish of St Ignatius to support the spiritual development of our children and families.

Our ultimate aim is that each child is educated so that they are helped to become adults who ‘know, love and serve God in this world and are happy with Him in the next’.
