Art

A high-quality art and design education should engage, inspire and challenge children, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design.

Through our art lessons, children also learn how to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of art and design.  They learn how art and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of our nation.

This term, alongside our classroom topics, we will be taking part in the National Gallery ‘Take one picture’ project.  We will be studying the painting ‘Mr and Mrs Andrews’ by Thomas Gainsborough.

If you have any artistic skills which you would like to share with the children, please contact the School office.
