Prayer Life - ST. Ignatius Catholic Primary School

Prayer Life

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7)

At St Ignatius, prayer is at the heart of everything we do. We believe it is essential for our children to have the opportunity to pray each day, helping them to grow spiritually, reflect on their actions, and strengthen their relationship with God.

Daily Prayer Routine

We begin each day with our Morning Offering, dedicating our work, play, and learning to God. Before meals, we give thanks by saying Grace, and after lunch, we take time for meditation, providing a peaceful moment for reflection. At the end of the day, we come together for the Examen, a time to look back on our day with gratitude and seek God’s guidance.

Prayer Stations

To encourage spontaneous and personal prayer, we have dedicated prayer stations in both our KS1 and KS2 areas. These quiet, reflective spaces offer children a place to pray, write intentions, and deepen their faith in their own time.

Through our daily prayers and special moments of reflection, we nurture a strong sense of faith, peace, and community within our school.

Seasonal Stations: A Collaborative Trust Initiative

As a Trust, our family of schools works together to create meaningful spiritual resources that support reflection and prayer throughout the liturgical year.

In the Season of Advent, our schools collaborated to produce the Stations of the Nativity, guiding pupils and staff in preparing their hearts for the birth of Christ.

During the Season of Lent, we came together to create the Stations of the Cross, offering a reflective journey through Christ’s passion and sacrifice.

These resources are shared across our schools, enriching our communities with opportunities for prayer, contemplation, and spiritual growth during these sacred seasons.
