School Newsletter 9 – 2018/19

Dear Parents/ Carers

Parent Questionnaires
Once again we have been seeking your views about how we are doing through the Parent Questionnaire. These were available at parents’ evenings either on your child’s book or handed to you by the class teacher. If you didn’t receive a questionnaire, please ask at Reception or email in. Many thanks to those of you who did complete and return your questionnaires. They are looking very positive.

You can also go on-line at Parent View and complete the Ofsted questionnaire. I would like to encourage you to do so as Ofsted will be looking at this before our next Ofsted. Follow the link to register and complete the questionnaire.

Summertime
Indoor shoes
Hopefully as we approach the summer term we are going to see an improvement in the weather. Could you ensure that your child (KS2) has a pair of indoor shoes that are still wearable for the summer term. The children will be able to use the field as the weather warms and dries which tends to bring in a lot of debris. Indoor shoes help keep the learning environment clean.

Water bottles
Likewise, with the warming of the weather the children do drink more. Please ensure that your child(ren) has a school water bottle in school every day. These can be purchased for £1 from the school office if you need a replacement for the free one given in September.

Summer Uniform
Summer uniform may be worn after Easter. This consists of:
Boys – Grey tailored shorts/ trousers, short sleeved white shirt with red tie or white polo shirt, black shoes, red V-neck jumper. (No sweatshirts please)
Girls – Red and white checked school summer dress, or grey skirt with short sleeved white shirt and red tie or white polo shirt. Red V–neck cardigan/ jumper, black shoes and plain white socks
Please ensure that school dresses are all checked (no white tops).

Nursery Applications
Nursery applications will be processed for the next academic school year 2019-20 during May 19. Children are able to start Nursery the term after their third birthday and are admitted in accordance with the school’s Nursery Admissions Policy which can be found on the school website. Letters will then be sent out in the post offering a place which will need to be confirmed with school by a given date.

If you, or anyone you know, hasn’t yet completed a School Information Form for Nursery please contact the school office as soon as possible.

Y6 Netball
The Y6 Netball team are to be congratulated on winning the Wakefield Schools netball competition earlier this term. They will now go on to the West Yorkshire schools competition in July. We wish them success at this event.

Becket’s Y6 transition
Becket’s have confirmed that their transition days for Y6 pupils will be Thursday 4th and Friday 5th July 2019.

Dolce Dinners
Dolce have advised they will be going cashless from the end of May, meaning all payments for school lunches must then be made by either direct debit, or by card payment direct to Dolce. There will no longer be the option to pay by cash or cheque at school. More information to follow.

Best wishes

Mrs Rush
