School Newsletter 7 – 2018/19

Dear Parents/ Carers

Yellow Bus Service

We have been advised by Metro that the Yellow Bus service will not operate outside the standard Wakefield school calendar.

As you will be aware, St Ignatius’ Spring term does not end until Friday 12th April. As this falls outside of the Wakefield calendar the bus will not operate between Monday 8th and Friday 12th April 2019. We are contacting you as soon possible so that you can make alternative arrangements for that week.

The service will run as normal again after the Easter break from Monday 29th April 2019.

Teaching Assistant

We are seeking to appoint a temporary Teaching assistant to work in Class 2 during the afternoon sessions until July 31st 2019. Please see the school website for full details.

Mission Day

Following our Outstanding RE inspection in June 2018, we identified the need to update our school’s Mission statement. On Friday 22nd March, we will be holding a Mission Day in school, led by Chris DeVanney from the Diocese of Leeds. He is leading this for the Governors, a group of staff and hopefully a group of interested parents. I have no details regarding timings as yet, but it is expected to take the whole day. If you would be interested in helping us to develop a new Mission statement, please let school know so we can contact you nearer the time.

Parents’ Evenings

Parents evenings will take place on 6th and 7th March 2019. These will be booked through the on-line system. Online booking opens on Monday 11th February at 11am.

Online booking can be accessed at

Parents of pupils with SEND will be invited to attend an individual meeting agreed with the class teacher during W/C 11th February instead, to allow for slightly longer appointments of 15 – 20 minutes.

Many thanks for your continued support of our school.
