School Newsletter 7 2017/18

Dear Parents/ Carers

Welcome back to a snowy February half-term. Hopefully, the heating will now work reliably and keep us all warm.

Lenten Prayer and Toast

Starts Wednesday 28th February 2018 at 8:30am. This is open to all parents, families and their children. It will be a time of prayer and reflection followed by the opportunity for tea, toast and a chat with other parents. Donations for the tea and toast will go to the Good Shepherd Appeal. All children need to be accompanied by an adult.

Dolce Dinners

Dolce are raising the price of their dinners to £2:30 per day from 1/4/2018.

Text Messaging

Our Teacher to Parents contract runs out end of March and we are gradually moving everything over to Groupcall which has a number of benefits. Benefits are that parents can make payments online; give paperless consents for trips; book parents evening online; reply to messages. We urge everyone to download the app called Groupcall Expressions where you will be able to see messages sent and access the school website.

Thank you to the Friends who have kindly agreed to share the cost of a 2 year subscription to Espresso. This is an online learning resource used in school and can be accessed from home – ask your child for their logon details.

The kitchen has a vacancy for a temporary Kitchen Assistant to cover maternity leave. 7.5 hours per week 12-1:30pm 5 days a week. Includes general duties.
If you are interested contact Hanlie at Dolce on 07392 866551.

Following the recent events in the news we have re-considered our school absence procedures.
If a child is absent and there has been no message regarding the absence then we will contact first contact on our system. In the event that we are unable to make contact with this person, we will phone the other contacts we have details for. If we are unable to gain contact from anyone, we may have to alert the authorities to ensure that your child is safe.
Please ensure that you contact school if your child is absent for any reason before 9 o’clock if possible and by 9:30am at the latest. Don’t forget to cancel their dinner too.

Looking forward to a great half-term and look forward to seeing some of you tomorrow for Prayers and Toast.

Best wishes
Mrs. Rush
