‘An inspired learning community with Jesus Christ at our centre’

Dear Parents,

Welcome back after the October half-term break. I hope that you all had an enjoyable week and the children are coming back to school refreshed for the Christmas half-term.

Election of Parent Governor

Due to the end of the term of office for our current Parent Governors, Helen Pidcock and Michelle Cowper, we are seeking to appoint a new member of the parental body to become a parent governor on the Academy Council.

Please see attached information leaflet.

Christmas CD

Mrs Ridgeon and Mrs Shelton are organising the production of a Christmas CD to be recorded in time for Christmas. (The price is £7.99 per CD) This covers the cost of production, plus a contribution to school fund. School will also receive a class pack of percussion instruments to be used across the school in music lessons.

Winter Uniform

Winter uniform must now be worn, despite the summer temperatures. Children may no longer wear polo shirts or summer dresses. Shirts and ties must be worn by all. (Ties are available from the school office for £1.20). Tailored trousers and skirts/ pinafores should be dark grey.

Outdoor PE kit will need to include suitable footwear, such as trainers. Warm tracksuit or sweatshirts may also be worn for outdoor PE. (These should be plain navy or black)

Please ensure all items of clothing are named in a permanent way.

Website

The staff has been updating the website for the new school year. This includes the new safeguarding policy for 2016.

Mrs Brian works extremely hard to keep our website updated with news and photographs of events in school. I am sure that you would agree that she does a fantastic job.

Retirement

Mrs Lilian Goodall, our long-serving class 1 Lunchtime Supervisor, has now retired. She has asked me to convey her thanks to all those who have sent her good wishes for her retirement, either personally or through their children. We wish her a long, healthy and happy retirement.
