School Newsletter 4 2017/18

Dear Parents/ Carers

With the arrival of Advent, we can see the preparations for the Coming of Jesus at Christmas around us. The Christmas fair was a great success and the quality of the crafts that the children produced on Deco Day was astonishing. The Friends raised £626.44. We offer our thanks for their organisation and support which allowed this event to take place.

Christmas Dinner Day

Christmas dinner is on Wednesday 20th December. The children can come in their Christmas jumpers should they wish to. Class parties are planned to be in the afternoon.

Healthy Schools Award

We are a Healthy School and this has been recognised formally. Please ensure that you support this if your child has a packed lunch. There are a growing number of instances of children’s packed lunches containing sweets and chocolate bars.

Please can I remind everyone that children are only allowed fruit at playtime. Nursery, Class 1 and Class 2 are provided with free fruit. Fruit Winders, cereal bars and other types of snack foods are not allowed at playtimes due to their high sugar content.

Dolce Dinners

Just a reminder from Dolce that from January 2018 all school meals ordered and not cancelled by 9:30am will be charged to your Dolce accounts. This is particularly important for those who pre-order. If your child is off sick – you must remember to cancel their lunch.

Advent

Many thanks to those who have sent in gifts for the Radio Aire Appeal. Your donations have been varied and generous. I am sure that they will help to make someone’s Christmas extra-special.

We are staring to collect items for the SVP Hampers. If you would like to contribute, please send any items into school with your child – a few luxury items in each hamper always makes a lovely Christmas treat for the recipient. If you wish to donate any alcoholic items, please ensure that an adult brings these into school and hands them in at the office. I know that the hampers always look fabulous.
