School Newsletter 3 2017/18

Dear Parents/ Carers

We are well into this term and we are beginning to hear and see the signs of Christmas being round the corner. Advent will be soon upon us and then the Christmas preparations will start in earnest, I am sure. Deco Day is pencilled in for November 29th. If there are any more volunteers for Deco Day, please let the office know.

Dolce Dinners

Just a reminder from Dolce that from January 2018 all school meals ordered and not cancelled by 9:30am will be charged to your Dolce accounts. This is particularly important for those who pre-order. If your child is off sick you must remember to cancel their lunch.

Indoor Shoes

Please would you ensure that your child has a pair of indoor shoes to change into in KS2. It really does help to keep the school clean and ensure a pleasant environment for pupils and staff to work in. Thank you.

We have had a number of parents complaining that some cars are driving too fast up the school drive. Also, please ensure that you park away from the end of the school drive as it is very difficult for drivers leaving the drive to see past parked cars when turning onto Storrs Hill Road.

Trim Trail

We are delighted to announce that work on the Trim Trail is due to start on November 27th. The installation is expected to take about 1 week.

November Prayer List

We call November the month of the Holy Souls and remember those who have died. If you would like us to pray for the repose of the souls of your loved ones, please send their name into school and I will add them to our prayer list.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.  May they rest in peace. Amen.

Traditionally we focus on fundraising and helping others during Advent.

This year, we would like to support Radio Aire in their drive to ensure no child in West Yorkshire wakes up without a Christmas present.

We are collecting any sized unwrapped present suitable for a child aged between 0-18.

If you are able to support, presents should be brought to school by Wednesday 29th November.  For more details, please see

We will also be collecting items for Class hampers throughout Advent for the SVP to deliver to those in need across the Parish. Last year we suggested some luxury items to be included. The Mini Vinnies usually help the SVP to make up the hampers. They have been very well received across the Parish.

The Friends would also like your support for the Christmas Fair. Any donations of cuddly toys, books, DVDs, brick-a-brack etc will be gratefully received. They would also like donations of cakes and buns on the day of the fair.

Best wishes

Mrs Rush
