Dear Parents/ Carers
We are well on our way to Christmas and all the joy and excitement that it brings.
The Year 6 Mini Vinnies have worked really well together to organise the Backpack project in school. Many thanks to all those who have sent in items for a Backpack or a complete Backpack. The final day for sending them in is Friday 23rd November, when the Mini Vinnies will help the UCM to sort and pack the Backpacks ready for collection.
All children should now be wearing their winter uniform which does include a school tie for everyone. These can be purchased from the office.
All earrings should be removed for school. Ample time has been allowed for new summer holiday piecing to be fully healed. These are not part of the school uniform as they present a Health and Safety issue, particularly during PE lessons. Children will be asked to remove these themselves if they leave them in for school accidentally.
Lost property is now stored in the office until the end of each half-term. There are a number of school jumpers and cardigans which are un-named in there.
Use of Dojo
Please could I ask that parents desist from Dojo-ing staff between 7pm and 7am, and at weekends, as it can be intrusive during family time. Staff may pick up Dojos sent before 7pm later on in the evening, depending on their other commitments. These may be responded to by the teacher outside 7am-7pm if they deem it to be necessary.
Also, could you ensure urgent messages during the day are sent to the office either by phone or email as teachers are generally not on Dojo messaging whilst teaching and messages can be easily missed. All messages regarding absence/ late collection from school should be sent to the office.
Dojo is a valuable communication tool which we introduced as a great way of home and school keeping in contact about children’s progress, behaviour rewards and class information. It is important that we manage its use effectively for all.
The school collection has now closed. Any late orders will have to be completed on-line by parents.
MacMillan Bake Sale
Following on from the Bake-Off last half-term, the sale of the remaining cakes and buns raised £75 which has been sent to MacMillan.
