School Newsletter 13 2017/18

Dear Parents/ Carers

These last few weeks of the school year are always action-packed, particularly for the Y6 children as they start their transition to High School and reflect on their time here at St. Ignatius. There are a number of opportunities for all parents to join us over the coming weeks.

St Ignatius’ Celebration Day
St Ignatius Feast day is July 31st and always falls in the summer holiday period. We have decided to have a celebration day which will take place on Wednesday 11th July 2018.

The day will start with Mass at 9:30am for the whole school community. Please do come and join this celebration of the Eucharist.

We plan a family picnic over the lunchtime period, followed by activities for families. The children will order their lunch through Dolce as usual or they can bring their own packed lunch. We would like to invite parents to join their children for lunch, the cost of which will be covered by school – a maximum of 2 adults per family.
Mrs. Draper is sending out the order form through Groupcall. Orders need to be received by Monday so that the kitchen can place the food order with their suppliers. Parents may opt to bring their own family picnic should they wish to. Please ensure that no glass or alcohol is brought on site.

Parents with children in EY and KS1 should arrive from 12 noon.
Parents with children just in KS2 should arrive from 12:20 pm.

The Friends are putting together some activities for the children to take part in during the afternoon. The class teachers will also have some activities in classrooms. The Friends have also kindly arranged for all the children in school to have a free ice-cream. The children will need to register in class and then can re-join their families if they are present for the activities. Any children whose families are unable to attend will still be able to participate fully in the day under the supervision of their own class teacher.

Once families are ready to leave after afternoon registration and the activities, they may take their children too, so that they do not have to make a return trip at the end of the school day. Please pray for a rain-free day!
