School Newsletter 10

Dear Parents,

Our new on-line booking system for Parents’ Evenings seems to be working well with record attendance at Parents’ Evenings.

Administering Medicines in School

Just a reminder to all parents that we are only able to administer medicines in school which have been prescribed by a doctor and that we must follow the instructions for administration. The medicines have to be prescribed to the child and must also be in date.

We are unable to administer non-prescription medicines.

Growth Mindsets

Each class has been working to develop a Growth Mindset approach to their learning. Our ‘learner values’: to be resilient, a risk-taker, a challenge-seeker, an inquirer, reflective and to be your best self, are now the focus of our discussions with children about their learning.

The children were encouraged to enter into a competition to design a logo for one of the learner values. The winners’ logos are being made into new award badges for use in SANGAM on Fridays. We are hoping that they will be in school after Easter.

Our winners are: Grace, Rosie, Aston, Millie S, Poppy and Finn.

Parents are able to support this work we are doing in school and encourage their children when discussing their learning using these Growth Mindset style questions.

  • What did you learn today that surprised you?
  • Did you make any good/ juicy mistakes today?
  • How did you learn from them?
  • What did you do today that made your brain grow?
  • How did you help someone else stretch their brain power?
