French

Research has shown several benefits from learning an additional language at a young age. In addition to developing an appreciation of different cultures and customs, learning a new language can also develop speaking and listening skills which can aid a child’s general language development.

Children are taught French from Year Three onwards using a variety of audio, visual and kinaesthetic strategies to make the lessons fun and engaging for all pupils. Learning objective focus on developing the following areas:

  • Oracy
  • Literacy
  • Intercultural understanding.
