Class 2 Skipping Lesson

Year 2 children will be taking part in a skipping festival at St Wilfrid’s in April. In order to prepare for the festival, we were visited by Leanne from Skipping Schools who taught us some basic skips, such as speed bounce and double bounce.

Once we had mastered these skips, she introduced more complex skips such as hopping and side swing. The children enjoyed learning these and used their growth mind set slogan ‘I can’t do it YET’ whilst trying to improve.

The year 1 children also took part in the training – they are getting ahead of the game for next year!

All children showed a massive improvement with their hand eye co-ordination and rhythm.

We will be continuing to skip regularly in school in order to prepare for our festival but most importantly – to keep fit and active whilst having fun!
